Handbook to madness

Due to some confusion and some questions from my very smaller reading population i have come under the conclusion that i shall fulfill a request to explain my nickname/anonymity system more indeptly.

In order to do this i will give each nickname and write a blurb about each person and which nicknames they are conected to, if they are conected to any. This does eliminate anonymity but for the sake of being entertaining and bizzare i want to keep the nicknames as its more protecting them from outsiders, not insiders. I see little to no harm in this as i will keep the blurbs as non-offensive as possible....

First i shall name my chief readers who coincidentally are society people.

Malkovich: Well read, inteligent and interesting. Likened my writting to the fear and loathing guy.

Kaffee: The only person in the society that i can confirm appears more lazy than me but is actually a legal eagle and does some semblance of work, unlike myself. A common face in the society long before my appearance this important figure has passed his time onto the newer ilk but remains a legend in many of his own lunchtimes.

Now i shall blurb about each nickname in relative order of appearance.

Hope(nickname now redundant): Well read blond. Exchange student origionally from this country but her curtosy of a foreign college. Coincidently went to the same primary school as myself.

Goldylocks: Quirky blond. Friend of Gammaman. I origionally knew her as a girl who played drums in my school choir on our trip to Chicago, we were both very sick of pizza.

Gammaman: One of my oldest friends from secondary school. Known for giving off a strong sense of deja vu. Despite falling in and out of favour as one of my friends he has always been around and he is now possibly my second best friend. His championship of many different cause's over the years has helped me a lot and i thank him for that. Currently involved with Cailín.

Cailín: A youngling but well adept in the national language and as opinionated and inteligent as her significant other and her brother. Her brother being BD.

Lenn: Possibly one of my oldest friends. This man is responsible for my love of star trek, my love of star gate and origionally my athiesm which evolved into agnosticism. We lost touch through secondary school and are not the same level of friends now, but he is still an influential part of my life. He also is responsible for my love of Tom Lehrer, one of the greatest joke singers there is. He is a theologan and holds some post within the society that i cant remember or comprehend.

Joker(nickname seemingly unexplained): A rare and powerful force in the world of debating, massive knoledge, imagination and seemingly brilliant humour. This rare person seem's to be capable of arguing almost anything at all.

I-T: Another exchange student and an enigmatic charecter that appears to be rising through the ranks of the society quickly. Smart, hard to follow and leagues ahead of many in lateral thinking this person will go far. Dont be surprised to see him leading a state in 20 years time.

Letch: Another familiar olde face of the society. A charecter that seem's to always be around and his inteligence and skill are hidden under a quirky exterior and letcherous nature. Sharing many hilarious moments with the female's of the society this charecter is almost fictional in nature but hilarious and admirable in all aspects.

Stonecutter Percy: The figure head of the society. Some slightly off-centre views on different issue's but a likable charecter that has secured what could be one of the greatest years in the history of the society. Also has a slight nervous twitch when he agree's with things.

Jayne: Another master-debater of hilarious talent and general likablity. His leadership of all hallow's IV is to be commended for a job very well done.

Legend: Not a society member. But a legened non-the-less. Detail's must be kept hush hush, but this person is one hell of a good friend too the society and hopefully so for a long time to come.

VeryBeary: The interest of my summer past. Also now my current partner in complaining about how shit mental illness is. A larger than life talented girl who is also a member of my hiatus'd band project. She is also the leader of the real college's Sci-fi society. Computers speak to her in very special way.

P.G - My ex of about 8 and a half months. The first girl i did anything with. And now a very good friend. She was in my previous year in my course and is now in co-leadership of whats left of my olde gang. Our relationship is forgotten on a lot of levels, although the sex is something i wont forget. Not always rewarding but memorable none-the-less. 27 -0 is one hell of a tally. I could brag that i was able to "use her like a qwerty keyboard" but in truth she was easily pleased when very pleased.

Avril: A friend of sorts who was on my first placement and in my tutorial group along with PG. A stunner of a semi-mature student. Better read and knoledgable than you may think at initial glance this womans a keeper in more sense than one. Beyond my league but still a good friend. She has an ability only rivaled by that of my sister to know when to shut my posh and pedantic side up.

Cleo: A friend of PG's that soon became a general friend of my olde gang. Surprisingly shy and reserved her departure was a bit of a shock. But upon recent event's i have discovered how amazing a person she truely is. On several level's we share experiance's and interests. And i hope nothing but the best for the future of out friendship or more.

Fox: A long life friend of Gammaman. I actually know little to nothing about her. She is another frequent face within the society but has only recently emerged as a debating hopeful.

Budsey: Possibly one of my best female friends from my old year. A perfect example of the when harry met sally theory in that i origionally fancied her before we became very close friends. She was there during the very hard time after my break up with PG and i am thankful for her support. I have also on many occasion shared a lot of my music with her without her requesting it. Origionally a flirting tactic it eventually became altruism.

Those yet to be named, that most likely will be at some point. Several people are still missing from this list.

Capone: A northern irish person with some rather interesting fashion sense. He is incharge of the re-attempt section of the novice debating competion that has something to do with medival virginity.

NordieMk2: A slightly excentric and hillarious northener who is a frequentor of workshops and other events.

Nescafé: A hard working commitee person who is in charge of the visiting pre-younglings. A lot of my memory of her is of her either being wrecker or actually being asleep.

008: A rather tall man who seem's take queit a strong interest in his appearance. He also seem's to wear a suit a lot for some reason.

Biscuits: I have no idea why i chose this nickname. He is the significant other of Fox and also a recurrant face in the society.

Julia-Roberts: A rather eccentric and determined senior member of the society who talks a lot with her hands.

DS: Possibly my best friend. He shares exactly the same interest in film as me and on many levels we plan to be partners in different projects. Wether it be our band or making the kinds of films and tv we want to see, we plan on teaming up to force our view points on the world.

Rose: A good internet friend from NC. A long standing friend who i doubt i can leave out of anything for long as she has been a helpful force in my life.

Lore: A person who one of my most devistating fascinations was aimed at. A very good friend after that had all passed. I havent heard from her in a long time and i dont need to. But she was rather influential in my life.

There are several other important charecters i have left out but their time will come.

Head to Head 1: Dookie Vs Word Gets Around.

I have had this idea swiming in my head for a good while, and i thought i might as well do it. Which band is greater over the past 15 to 20 years, Green Day or Stereophonics?

To Answer this impossible question i will leave the judgement down to their first mainstreem albums. Green Day's iconic Dookie and the Genious that is Stereophonics Word Gets Around. To do this i will rate each song and add up the total and add extra points for brilliance, melodic nature and influence(which green day have in the bag).

Dookie's track list:
Burnout - Melodic, memorable, simple beat 8/10
Having a blast - Dark, good image's, catchy, 7/10
Chump - too short, highly memorable 6/10
Longview - 9/10 No explination needed
welcome to paradise - 7/10
pulling teeth - 6/10
basket case -8/10
she - hard to understand at times, still catchy, 6/10
sassafras roots - hard to understand, still good, 6/10
when i come around - a true classic, 8/10
coming clean - seem's short 6/10
emenius sleepus -6/10
in the end - fast, 7/10
Fuck Off and Die - amazing, catchy, great ending, 8/10
Bonus: All by myself - funny, disturbing, 5/10

Total: 103. Considering uneven track listings i will still add points for influence, but also deduct some. Green Day spring boarded to stardom from this album, however do remember Blvd of fraking crap over played song. And Basket case has been covered by some very unworthy bands, not a good thing at all. All in all i have to make it 98 points.

Word gets around:
A thousand tree's - Amazing, catchy, melodic, brilliant lyrics, 8/10
looks like chaplin - catchy, hard to understand, great lyrics 7/10
more life in a tramps vest - amazing chorus, 7/10
local boy in the photograph - surprisingly good, 6/10
traffic - best heard live, 7/10
not up to you - a middle of the road song on this album, but still strong 6/10
check my eyelids for holes - possibly best lyrics on this album, 8/10
same size feet - slow start, great lyrics, 6/10
last of the big time drinkers - simple enough, good chorus, 7/10
goldfish bowl - strong lyrics, social comentary, 7/10
too many sandwiches - funny 6/10
billy davey's daughter - slow, moving, strong, 6/10

Total:81. But the raw potential, the amazing unique lyrics and stronger vocal clarity. More melodic moments but equally as many hit songs, or at least potential. Giving it took nearly 10 years to properly top this album and far less hit songs from later albums. The final score is 94.

There you have it. A pointless excercise, but Green Day wins by 4 points.

Please note this is more which album is better, not which band. After all, we all know it's....

Harry's G.U.I.D.E to Brunch.

Ah, i just love that title. So many in-jokes its unreal! Let's see, 1, 2, 3, 4 and an overal 5. Damn, 5 puns/injokes in the same title. I applaud myself. Now revealing them all would... well that would just be telling. Anyhoo, an up and down week. As per usual. But this one had some great moments, some i will never forget, some i would rather, really really want to forget. I had prepared a draft for this and it was going rather splendidly, but why draft it when that draft started on wednesday, that backward spelled day.

So i start with day by day blows as brief as possible and comment as light as i can on sub topics from a few of the days. Yeah, that will work, i think.

Monday: Long day on placement. Nothing too special too it. Felt like it was really any other day. But Meteor in their glorious wisdom gave me 50 euro out of nowhere. So as an honest costomer i didnt complain and let it be. I was tired so i didnt watch much "telly" and didnt faff about much online when i got home, i just went to be.

Tuesday, a day that will live in infomy: Well the first parts of the day, not really. I was placed in an STI clinic for 2 days so first thing in the morning at around the time of most civilised breakfasts i was bending over looking at warts being frozen off strange men's genital area's. Great way to start the day. Mid morning involved testing urine. Late afternoon involved awkward quick glance's up a speculum. All in all, an odd day placement wise. But it was a great place. The staff were amazing and the nurse's were all irish, a welcome change from you're normal pom pui sub-asians. The OKAY OKAY Doctor however was slightly annoying, even if she was helpfull id love to travel back in time and give her a thesaurus to her during medical school, Okay said that many times in repatition is just wrong!

Now the evening. Quick pop into the society. Brief chat with Percy and BD. Fox was in the room with her significant other, but best to ignore that frequent spectical. Grabbed a redbull and then headed for the train. Oh wait, mother was going home later? Freedom to meet up with PG(my ex of 9 months) and our olde friends from college. So there i was aranging going home with my mother and i walk out the "wrong" gate of college and then think, oh im going the wrong way. Walk to the green, realise, oh frak, i was going the right way. So i buy lolipops and get a discount of 5 cent each due to a clerical error. I walk via the "bus depot" to the department store in question and join my olde friends, or at least wonder to both area's of eating and cant see them, half way out of the place and find out they're tucked into an odd corner. So i arive, and PG, Avril and Cleo are all there. I had lollipops our and sit down. Oh, did i mention i was breaking practice's and still in uniform, im a bad boy that way, no time to change!

So good catch up etc. But out of nowhere Cleo, a course drop out shone like i never saw before. She was intriguing me from the get go. And after all it was good to catch up. Then came to V interesting story's etc, or at least the pg-13 versions. She was dating a lot, had been put on a personal ad website, made out with an argentine call girl and knew a friend who was organising a swingers party to soe his wilde outs before his wedding. I have to say, even if my other friends werent paying it the same heed as me, im a guy, such story's were amazing to me. And afterwards as i still had plenty of time in town, i decided to walk with her.

BEST CONVERSATION, IN A VERY LONG TIME. Wow wow wow. Rom-com or drama gold. Hearing more of the details of the stories i had heard earlier was just amazing. And hearing that she's bi. I shared that i was Hetro-flexable and found several guys really attractive; opposite sex sharing convo, so i shared! And things went on from there. Shared opinions of certain people, mentioned fail rate etc of course. Mention questionable sexual orientation of certain people from our course. Then more details about Swingers party thing, and i actually got an proposition of an invite. So from there i joked about the american wingman system, and thought in at least that capacity it could work. Then more serious stuff. Depression. How last year and life in general was for us. And boy we both opened up a lot. I'd say i talked more on that subject, but she did seem far more emotional. And then referance to When Harry Met Sally, possibly the greatest rom-com for relationship referance's ever. And it does ring true. The girls i know ive mostly fancied or eventually fancied at one stage, its oh so true. I had to say, the whole evening had been a big surprise and i was general bewildered and gobsmacked. And by the end of it i think i was enamered, lust was setting in, OY VEH!

Last note of that evening i stupidly sent a text trying to find out a proper excuse from Hope. But then forgot about it the next day...

Wednesday: Last day in the clinic. Far more quieter. Got to watch Fringe during an EXTENDED lunch break, good times. Got off early too, also good times. But my last patient was a culchie with leg swelling and i think i spent nearly an hour giving him the health promotion advice for his leg over and over while the young female doctor sorted out the care plan etc away from his wondering answers. I didnt blame her, he wouldnt shut up! I also found 2 euro on the ground, free lunch! Off early, so i go to the yellow arch and get a plastic burger to sustain me. Then into the society. Newspaper reading and then helping Fox with a crossword, prenate and kadaver being my contributions. Master-debating workshop. But then arguing like discussion over train time and lifts, not so good times. Then phone call from Hope. Oh yeah, text message. Apologies briefly from me about my Neurocies, but mainly her apologies about where she stood on not wanting a relationship. I was running for the train, i didnt give any of my side, but i was indifferent to it. Then miss train by a second. Angry Parentals. Afraid to go home. I use the hour wait to go see Gammaman and rest of people from society before that nights debate. Gradually getting more and more Manic and anxious about going home i text, Cleo, VeryBeary and PG looking for someone to talk to. To my relief all 3 reply. Nice to have friends like that when you need it. I calmed down eventually. I did want to join Cleo at swingers party, but that was a tad impossible, but i feared going home irrationally. Calm by the time i got home, and i used mild confidence to start off with stuff about travel allowence to avoid anything about the lift, it worked.

Thursday, brunch day/day off: Now i had planed to meet PG, Budsey, Hope and Cleo at different stages that day, but i lost Budsey due to her late arrival into town. Pitty, havent seen her in like 6 months or more. But that morning was great, i had epiphanies of genious and wrote loads of re-edit work for my story, i was chuffed. Met up with PG and talked to her for a bit while texting Cleo. And the shock, she invited me to another swinger's party on friday, despite a poor experiance the night before. Difficult to take in while with PG who still smelt of cocconut, bad memories of unfulfilling sex. Then it was freshers coffee afternoon. Brief convo with Hope but none about us. Tuc crackers, so damn tasty. Brief chat with Cailín aswell due to gammamans spout of throat sandpaper. Grabbed notes. Then Long wait for Cleo. Then eventually met with her and she didnt seem too good, a bit of shock from the night before. But i was growing more and more fond of her. Cant remember anything substantial about thursday evening, i think i caught up on Heroes and a few other shows and that was about it.

Friday, a day id rather forget: Placement was average. Last day. Sad to see one patient was still there, she had temperature's like a rollercoaster, not so good times. Panic and stupidity over no portfolio work, but finally got my head around new system, i think. Got Travel allowence. Panic over figuring out next weeks placement. Then comment from some knacker that i looked like a girl from behind, stupid long hair and uniform. Now i had learned from early morning that swingers party was off. But i kept talking to Cleo. I kept talking and couldnt stop. I had tried to suggest dvd evening and talking to her to help her through some hick-up over some other guy. I could write a book on one sided lust, but she didnt want to share much about it with me. So i decided to stay in town to get my barrings. Slightly on the manic and stupid side. Another lollipop and sitting on the wrong platform in the train station thinking of heading towards where she lived. Smartly texted VeryBeary and she met with me briefly as she went to her own thing. I was calmer at that stage and didnt discuss much about it but i was still bleugh. Walked a lot more and ended up in the big C station. Newer texts from Cleo about my story for some reason. Then PG finally replied and she offered to find out what was on Cleo's mind. Gave an ultimatum about brining lyrics or going home. Went home. Didnt really find out what was on Cleo's mind.

Up and down week, and im leaving out this weekend. But i have to say, in truth it has been a good one. I have witnessed the true evil of my mind in manic and paniced state. Its ugly. I say a lot of things i dont want to. I make bad dicissions. I also need to focus more on college and hopefully fix the shady social life i have started to build. Theres some gaps in it and its hurting me. But study is the outward image i need to portray for parents. After all, im a lay about as is. I need to work. Even if i know it i need to learn it over again and appear to be working. Or ill be in the shit before i have a chance to proove it. I hate myself for poorly worded texts to Cleo, but they might not actually be as bad as i think. Time will tell. Study now..

In the begining there was really bad music...

Now, im not bitching about the golden oldies, no in truth im stabbing a knife in the back of the music i truly love. We were all younger when we first loved music, and when we're young, we're naive. And i was very very Naive. Now my earliest music loves were a few odd things here and there, my first music memory being "always take the weather with you" playing on the radio back in 1992. But for first band or artist that i liked id have to say it was Micheal Jackson, then maybe boyzone and shockingly but pretty obvious considering my age, the Spice girls. Now for the most part my musical taste lay in wilderness for years, except for the love of the Cars who are just to amazing to neglect in my memory.

My first real love of music as a whole most likely came in fourth year. Now considering the time and the albums, Elephant by White Stripes and By The Way by Red hot Chilli Peppers and Permission to land by The Darkness, it was a great time to get into music! But I have to contend that the Misery came first. Fourth Year was not a good time for me, 15/16 was not a good time. I remember for some reason backing Gary Jule's Mad World as a good song for Xmas number one.... Wow, how naive. Now around that time i didnt have an all too happy xmas, and close to new years i saw High Fidelity in full for the first time. Notably where the title of this blog comes from, the upper title.. And i became transfixed! I officially realised how much i could love music and i made a list and started on a mission to get more music off the Internet and downloaded onto my computer. And somewhere in that i found 2000 Miles by Mest. And i was amazed! From there i found more of their music and Untill I met You somehow became one of my depressed anthem's and so did Night Alone. In retro-spect, it was awful music, but damn i listened and sang along anyway! Thin Lizzy, the kinks and the Cars were all constantly played on my dads 1st generation iPod, and i still miss those albums.

That summer was also my first concerts. The massive RHCP concert in Phoenix park and Oxegen. The Darkness ruled for possibly their last moment at Oxegen, as following that they got shit, really really shit. Following that i really did love music. I joined the choir and picked up guitar. Both werent that successful but i did it anyway. I also started to write lyrics, and it became a strong tradition to write away my feelings in lyrics and they eventually got stronger and stronger. Now there was ups and downs, crying in a toilet listening to busted, is something id like to forget. But damn those guys were catchy. It was around this time that Green Day also reemerged with possibly one of the most hyped albums ever. Slightly deservedly but Blvd of broken shite just got overplayed to death. I got into them as well and eventually played them nearly every day. With my choir trip to Chicago i manage to get all of Mest's Back catalogue and was hooked for nearly a year and a half following that.

That years oxegen was free for me, some great technicality and Green day, foo fighters, and fightstar all ruled. I also managed to spend the whole sunday in the pit without going to the bathroom, not advised! But even if i had lost my friends i still enjoyed the music and made the kind of temporary friends whose names you dont know and face's you'll never remember. Green Day and Mest were predominantly always on my Disc-man for most of 6th year. And somehow despite its weak themes Photographs by Mest was and possibly still is one of my favourite albums. Its weak, really weak, but its so catchy and sounds so good, they stuck the gold mine that was the ear's of their fans. But they packed it in after that, and really they were never a perfect band, but i enjoyed the ride.

Somewhere in the mix of 5th year i discovered fall out boy, and the rest is history. I was amazed and i just loved from under the cork tree, it was amazing to me. Angels and Airwaves and Blink 182's greatest hits also got a lot of airtime on my Disc-man and pc. Then during the leaving cert i couldnt put Fall Out Boy's first album Take This To Your Grave down. I loved every moment of it, my only complaint was Grenade Jumper which wasnt as good as the rest. To this very day Patron Saint of Liars and Fakes is one of my favourite songs.

That summer was mainly my love of Fall Out Boy and The Like. And i still remember the amazing concert the Like gave in crawdaddy where Z Berg Locked eyes with me for almost every song. If i wasnt such a shy kid at the time i would have flirted with her like mad, but even now i dont think id have the stomach to do that. Music wise i branched out more and more. The Fratellis, The All-American Rejects, Avril Lavigne and the kooks all were added to my cd collection. And along with everyone else at the time i really loved My Chemical Romance's new album, which was just an instant classic. I was already unique with Mest etc, but i pushed the envelope further when i discovered myspace. Wow, the bands i found. I cant remember who it started with but i can remember what i got for Christmas. +44, Paramore, Leanne Harte, A Day Away and Better Luck Next Time. Now BLNT are relatively weak, and i have rarely listen to them since but i did like a few songs, they were good. As for the rest they are still a strong presence in my mix lists, they will always be there, and for good reason. A Day Away are the kind of Pop-Punk brilliance and pure patchiness that i just love. And they have gone from strength to strength even though they are still unknowns. Somewhere along the line i also discovered Emily, Steer Clear, Blue Syndrome, Boy Turns Hero, Too Late the Hero, Mute Math and The High Court.

Emily became the sound track too my next summer. And i was devastated when they split. But somehow i became responsible for influencing the naming of the last song they ever played. We're Gonna need a bigger Boat, one of my favourite songs ever and i helped name it! It makes it oh so special to me because of that. Paramore's second outing was also a major part of that time. Music wise little new changed but bands i had already discovered finally released albums or released more. Farewell being one of the happiest one's i ever found. It was just amazing, pop-punk brilliance. Then came the biggy, INFINITY ON HIGH. Wow, just wow. Fall Out Boy rocked my socks once again and for a long time i never put it down.

Then to the last few months. And my summer was dominated by Chicks. A very odd irish band that gave me an anthem ill never forget. FUCK MUSIC! Just amazing. Not a perfect band, but damn i love them all the same. Also slightly before that was A Day Away's Second album, and well, just amazing, really really should not be over looked. These guys should not be as overlooked as they are. I also got round to discovering how much i love Stereophonics and got their entire back catalogue. One of the best bands ever, no question! Other discoveries included Metro Station and Hey Monday, both weak considering how good they sound and how much potential they have. Also following the crowd Vampire Weekend and MGMT also helped shape my taste up to now. And in the past week or two The blizzards and The Corona's to help keep the irish end up.

There, a history, an analyses and a rant about how much i love music, and how its shaped my life. More too come in the form of more constructive criticism of artist's and albums as a whole.

Artists i left out include: Muse, The Academy is..., Cute is what we aim for, Panic at the disco(!). There's just no time or need to include every name...

Puppies and Yuppies: The legendary morning of Wednesday the 5th of november 2008

It all began on that fateful night, the 4th of November. Unsure of my ability to go to the election coverage in the society i was granted leave from my ward early by the very friendly nurse's there. So i made my way into the big smoke and into college. Apon finding society closed and no one present i went and watched How i met your mother and family guy in the computer lab. I then joined the opening of proceedings for the election with my position of being able to be there still in limbo. A few confused texts too the parental units and queries too those in charge or connected within the society and eventually it was all sealed. The Stonecutter master whom i will Name Percy for some reason came up with the soloution to help me enter a loop hole in the possible name checking of those attending by the Junior Dean. So i doned a society fleece with an Obama button and GammaMan set up his flap-top so as i could check in the names of those attending. Soon we had around 47 people, less but for star trek referance purpose's ill use 47.

The night was set. Election coverage began and the rest slowly but surely became history. I as a slightly middle of the road opinion in regard to america's lack of choice system was torn over who to back or why i should care. Barrack Role, Yes we can and DNC 2004 were all youtube clips of the great man that did sway me a bit but he's a face with buzz words. His true inteligence is hiden from voters, and thats just sketchy. He also is most obviously backed by some shady lobey groups, but who isnt? So in the mits of doubt Hope, Jayne(male name), and i formed a anything but obama corner of the room for a while. Now Jayne was for Ron Paul and Hope a disillousioned Hillary fan didnt really have anything. I as slightly less informed, and weary of both sides desided to support Chilli Willi. WE WANT CHILLI WILLI!!

Alas, i recieved no RHCP. The night wore on and i began to see many a flaw and oddity in the american system. Its flaws arent too bad, but its not exactly a smart or difficult system. States named thier people before 100% or even 10% was counted. It was scary! Backing and giving odd numbers with no population based basis to candidates without full results. By 330am Obama had enough allready that the inclusion of the gaurunteed west coast threesome meant that he had won. So we awaited Mcain's Concession speech. And it came around 400am. The crowd were ugly, booing their loss, but Mcain did a great job and gave an amazing speech, i actually liked him, he didnt seem too bad at all, but Karibu barbie....

So then we waited for Obama speech. It finally came at around 5 am. And it was amazin'. It was also hillarious as i was still slightly cynical and full of caffine so i kept shouting out Rhetoric and heckles to several of his lines, to great comedic timing that i could not replicate to save my life! His kids are now getting a puppy, have fracking sweet is that! The PUPPY SPEECH was born!

As things wound up and we ignored Biden's walk to the podium. Groups parted and a plan was formulated. A certain Legend who will remain annoyminous started to mention the idea of Blue and red shots to celebrate. However no "early bar" was open yet. So in all of the Legend's deligating skills he blagged 15 of us into a hotel in the great bus depot, into the penthouse no less. Slightly bewilldered and hysterical at the great event and the fact we were in a hotel we packed into a lift and got lost in a long dark corridor going back and forth trying to find our room. Once found, we were in AWE! It was THE PENTHOUSE! Now, small hotel, but damn! A balcony, king sized bed, 2 large plasma tv's, a mini-grand piano(broken?) and stairs too a roof garden. A roof garden with its own Jetstream style american Trailer in it! All in shock the champagne was rolled out and we cheered for Obama and the Legend. The many prominant hotch potche's of the big smoke's sky line stood out and we looked on with awe as we stood in the centre of our glorious city with chapagne in had and 24 hours of awake behind a lot of us! Photo's snapped, poses's in bathrobe with a cigar, and pacts for facebook coverage helped the dawn continue. Then we all had Rasher's and Sausege's on toast and a tiny bit more champagne. We retired too the roof again briefly admiring the sun rise and then it was off, promise of those coloured drinks.

We walked too the Bar just on the corner of a large queue and a massive eyesoar and for somereason sense kicked in and we didnt have the american politic's themed drinks. After all, we were all tired and the LEGEND had already forked out for us needlessly for what was an amazing morning! He left to nap and then give a lecture before a radio interview and later a book launch. Our group decreased once again and we went to a small rugby and sailing ship themed bar close too the train and from there we broke up again.........

The story continues but its no where near as interesting but damn what a night! I left out some personal comentary, but in truth i dont need that, this story was amazing as is, and i think that one negative thing for which i did not mention has no barring on what was one of the best nights i have ever had!

Thank you too the Legend and the managing skills of the StoneCutter Percy!

All-Hallows-IV

Good Evening from the enorphin pumped brain of a newly manic and slightly self-actualising, or at least good intentioned Social-Dullard.

I have chosen to enter the world of blogging for the mere joy of telling my story in a creative and alter-ego way and as a means of writting a diary with objective opinion. I have chosen to remain semi-annoyminous so as to protect those i know. Slightly hypocritical as i will refer to them in detail, but will invent new names and nick names for most. This is not only to "protect" their persons, but also make it more entertaining, reflect how i think of them, and basically be a fun guessing game, that hopefully isnt too obvious.

The very concept of Social Dullard, is basically old hat for me at this stage. I don't suffer from ID, i actually am a very capable person, and social interaction is not an alien concept. Infact in recent weeks i have budded and wilted only to rise again like a cgi bird in some mediocre ending to a harry potter flic who's name i cant pin. Yes i am a person who suffers from mental illness, depression and possibly bi-polar depression/manic depression are a major part of my life. They did create a cyclical sink hole of self loathing that led to me doing fuck all and failing 2nd year.

Now i will not drone on to much about history etc, i have zillion's of blogs to do such things. And believe you me, i am one opionionated fraked up individual. I guess thats why joining the society has actually helped me so much in recent weeks. That and the insane notion of less time for the same work that my repeat of my course now has. Thats not more incentive to work, its more incentive to skive! IDIOTS! But less of what i should be talking about and more about how much Debating rule's, even if i don't at it.

This weekend just gone twas all hallow's IV. As in the Inter-varsity too the very heart of the true Republic. And The Society had one hell of a strong contigent. I made up half of possibly our worst team however. So bad we placed 3rd last, and i placing 5th last and my partner last. I cant really complain, thats just bitchy, and defeats the purpose. Its the taking part that optomistic go-getters brag about, and frankly, their delluded. But i did enjoy it. And i have no regrets...

Okay, i have many regrets, complaints, rants, questions, postulations, contimplations and manic scary and interesting thoughts. I will however not list them all, as ill be here till i have to sleep, which is A LOT.

I begin with the Aerwagon journey too the republic. Twas all goodish fun. Share-age of some of airplane! with Hope(first person nickname to appear, dont know if i like it), learning how good a phrase Auto-Erotic asphixiation can be from Goldylocks and several odd word games that i couldnt really understand. Then was Kyle-esque hostel and sporadic, spontanious and spoilt (like fruit) halloween shopping, in that it wasnt very fruitful; OY, bad analogy. Anyhoo, free not books, squezypig and Goldylocks Thought about contraception. GammaMan and Cailín posed for more awww photos, introduction thing had funny videos, and first debate was a bit of a mess. Why i used the dog from the dam busters is beyond me, after all swearing is prohibbited, but it was a debate about banning violent music, how could i not mention that miss-guided former insult. By some disastrous miricle we got 2nd in our 2nd debate, our ONLY score. And damn was it a disaster, one of our worst, i guess the socialist ideas of granting amnisty to all current illegal's in the states hit home with the judge... I dont know, but Lenn and Joker did get first, they deserved it. Then it was halloween party after pizza cock up, i blame mario's presance, but thats just referancing a great costume. Struck out in regards to Hope and the rest wasnt all that good, Sarah Palin had surprisingly good legs though.

2nd day. Woke with the smell of Markist socialism in the from of two weak teams trying to tear down Gammaman and Goldylock's capitalist plan to steal inheritance. I was one of those weak teams, and despite having fun it wasnt that good. But i had my Kojack moment, wow, i loved that pun, pitty my timing and relivance were off, i needed more funny! Damn inability to disprove Tarquin! After all he was origionally an investment banker but i forgot to mention that he must have worked for lemann brothers because some how he morphed into an aristrocracy linked barrister, i so should have rip the shit out of that!

Then came the 4th and 5th rounds, both which i loved. But i still wasnt perfect, and my partner let me down. I was the only one who knew something about israel, and more specifically jeruselem and its landmarks and how its devided. I really did have the facts, but i couldnt push the economic implications that well, took to many POI's and my partner was too weak to rebbuttle everything, he also brought new stuff, shame (as in pitty). Then Came and went dry tuna lunch. 5th round. Oh boy, one i knew something about. UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE! Now i admit i thought it was for developing world at first, which would have been cool to do, but it was developed. So i churned out the best advocacy for health promation i could muster in 7 minutes. Treat the source not the illness, being what i was trying to say. Eventually this would make treating the illness cheaper, yadda yadda. But i wrongly told people i was a nurse. Instantly no one would take any POI's and my arguement may have ruled but it crashed and burned by good rebuttle and we didnt even rank, and it was MY arguement, MY plan, MY mistake to qualify my knoledge in the first 10 seconds!

The society didnt rank after that. The others did, go them. Anything's better than University of constant Dort speak! Although Oxford and UCD really did give it a good ole bash and it was brilliant. But at diner Hope left. And i struck out again. I tried to confirm my feelings etc, dont know if it registered. Then i walked with baby(baby being a 3 litre bottle of cola....) back to Kyle's but seconds later I-T ruined the "altruism" of trying to help or comfert Hope's worrying. So i hit manic mode and flash's of bad things happened in my head, including the thought of actually consuming alcomalhol, sphegetti-monster forbid! The madening walk back to bar helped i guess, finding out results didnt. Walked back not too long after on my ownio. Didnt see any other room people other than a sleeping I-T for about 30 min. The walk and that 30 min were dangerous te fuck! I could have done anything! No one knew where i was and thanfully i kept sane, i really hit low. But all that walking really did help. I thank the Republic for which it stands, it really does, damn those streets are even!

3rd day. Sadish. Didnt talk to Hope despite presance before departure. DVD-age on bus with Letch. Gave away Baby. Then Odd Phone call. I had left my charecter notebook behind in The republic. I dont even know i took it out to read it at the diner, i did fuck all with it. And by some stroke of slightly scary mumbo jumbo a person who judged me twice found it, rang me, and i was able to get Hope to retrive it while i was racing home on the other Big E.

Then happy ranting at home, i was "myself" again. Weekend really helped make me not so dull on social things. Then in the evening i had to accomidate my partner in depression VeryBeary. Wow, i really dont miss feeling that shit. She has it bad, even worse than me, most likely to be more bi-polar than me. Ok so she possibly cant make the analogy that being manic is like an ipod on shuffle, but she really does have problems. That ass person really did screw her over and stuff piles and piles. It really is no slice of pie in her life what-so-ever. I have gotten tired of it all, thats why i lost interest in her as a possible partner and moved onto Hope, but damn i still care about her. A good friend either way, and i hope nothing but the best for her.

I could rant about today... but i wont. First blog diary rant-age down. Many more to come!

A-thank you good night.
