Cinephillia: A Trailer-gasm

For this post of Cinephillia i thought i would share with you some trailers i recently found.

I infact found queit a lot, so enjoy. Witty comments and gushing fan boy cries of glee are bound to also follow...

The Bluetooth Virgin

This little movie may look a tad indie and LA pretentious and self aware, but i like the look of it. Hollywood is always great when it paints a self-aware mocking picture of itself. After all LA Confidential and Chinatown are not exactly what you'd think of when you think of Hollywood self-mocking, more scream or a trippy stephen soderburg movie, but They also shine a light on the underbelly of the cities seedy past.

This movie however is a basic Screenwriters nightmare. In a city awash with screenplays, a freindship falling apart over a shit one sounds very plausable. And considering i can see a little of my Friendship with DS in it, it sounds like a must see. Although i dont think it will get a large release over here.

Whip IT!

Did you say Ellen Page, Idie music, Beauty Pagents, Rollerskates, Girls on rollerskates, Girls tackling each other on rollerskates, Drew Barrymore staring and directing, an idie sound track? IM SOLD!!!!!!!!!

An Education

Post-war comming of age romance, glamour and a bohemian life style or a boring education at Oxford. What a choice. Some would pass, but this stars a lot of familiar face's Including the girl who played "Sally Sparrow" in what was possibly the best episode of Dr Who, so i'm sold just for her!

Worlds Greatest Dad

Now a movie with Robin William's may sound like a bad thing after recent outings but this one looks brilliant. Of course it's got the usual critic lauding that you'd expect from a movie that's "his best in years" but i have to admit it looks good. A nice dark comedy about a really shit life. I think i'll by into that, even if it is Mork.

Adam Sandler, Adam Sandler Dying, Seth Rogen, Judd Apatow writing and directing, I'm SOLD!

The trailer give's away a lot of the plot and A LOT of jokes, but it still looks good. I like almost all of Adam Sandler's movies, i however don't like Billy Madison and haven't seen little nicky, from what i hear i haven't missed out. But either way Mr Sandler is a love him or hate comedy classic actor and pairing him with the new IT man of comedy was bound to happen, and having Sandler Dying, very fitting.

MOON

Now Sam Rockwell has been on my list of favourite actors for a good while now. Especially after the brilliance
of Choke. Now this movie really does like a favourite for the year as well. Let's set the scene. Man alone
on the moon. Sam Rockwell, meets a clone of himself, thinks he's going mad, ticking clock. Oh and they
had to cut corners so this is the first mainstream movie in years to heavily use Minature's instead of cgi! That alone sounds great!

Creation

Now this one looks brilliant. Paul Bettany is an amazing actor. His turn as the doctor/botonist in Master and commander
was brilliant. And a few years later it seem's fitting that he now plays Mr Charles Darwin Himself. Not only that
but he gets to star alongside his wife Jennifer Connolly for the 2nd time, this time actually acting WITH her. Their last
movie together involved him being a figmanent of Russel Crowes "beautiful mind".

This movie looks like a goodun, although some of it will be a bit of a pandering to the idea that the Theory is sound,
when infact back then it was just something 2 men came up with at the same time based on other people's other
various observations that asked more questions than gave answers. So the small snippet of Darwin reaching out to a chimp,
ala God to Adam in the Sistine chapel seemed a slight bit offensive(not to me), despite claims this movie is from an "agnostic" point of view.

The Cool name award goes to.....

Flame and Citron

What about Danish spies/double agents isn't cool. And this looks damn good! I don't care about the subtitles, The
subtitles. After all Paul Verhoven's Black Book, the dutch i know, was also pretty good. You rarely here about the Dannes
when it comes to WW2, after all they were never liberated. They also were the seat of the Kriegsmarine run Nazi
government at the end of the war. So their history is a little forgotten, except for only a dozen jews being captured.

A wonderful story of how a tip off led to EVERY JEW in Denmark Leaving by boat at night the day before they were due
to be rounded up into ghetto's. The wonders of history.

On a similar Nazi themed note, if you haven't heard of this one you should be ashamed!

DEAD SNOW aka Nazi Zombie's in Norway!

<

Nazi's! ZOMBIES! COMEDY! SNOW! NAZI GOLD! And did i mention Norway...

Every geek and genre fan in the world is eagerly awaiting this one! It just looks amazing. There's already
rumours and fear that hollywood may buy the rights to it and either reap all the benefits, or even worse, remake it!

Please save this movie. They already stole that Swedish vampire movie "Let the right one in". Now i don't have a source
for anything about this one being re-made, but i wouldnt put it past them.

After all it's Sean of the Dead meet's Snow and a cabin set up. It's cliché's abound, but it's also the kind of idea
hollywood whished it came up with, just like Sean of the Dead, which they are still kicking themselves over.

EIN, ZWEI, DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now for pure hotness value, and of course the allure of an attractive person that will kill you during sex...

Jennifers Body

Megan Fox. MEGAN FOX!!!!! Okay, so i haven't even seen the New Transformers but even i know this saultry
little vulpine is smokin' hot! And the idea of her killing "boys" and lezing it up with yer wan from Mamma Mia, has me sold!

The Year of 9's.

This will strick you as very odd, but also cool, 3 movie's, all with 9 in the name.

District 9

This Sci-fi race analogy movie looks damn good. Imagine that 30 years ago from the perspective of a near future, aliens arrived.
Then they stayed. But they were still a mistery. We treated them as "un-human". We segregated them.

And we naturally feared them. Then all hell breaks loose. The Documentary style presented in the teaser, and the
start of this trailer is great. South Africa is the best place for this story and i can't wait to see it go down.

Also the CGI is rather amazing, kudos to Peter Jackson and all his Orc experiance!

This Musical, yes MUSICAL, looks amazing. Daniel Day Lewis, Juddi Dench, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman and a Sofia Loren Cameo.

The music, the Italian theme, it all looks amazing! I love a good musical, and this looks great!

Just for the love of god NOT another oscar for DDL, he's to fucking good to be alowed near camera's!

A Tim Burton backed project. Animation and cute sock puppet heroes that are meant to save the world. Sounds good!

Mr Nobody.

Jared Letho playing a seemingly unimporant person who live's far into the future because he never made a choice, instead he lived every choice possible.

SOUNDS AMAZING!

And to close i give you this CGI spectacular from the guy who made independance day.

Take having John Cusack as a subtle bonus.

2012

Also at the very end the MONEY SHOT of the JFK crashing into the Whitehouse, it's the new Disaster movie icon.

After all this guy hit the white house with a big green laser in the 90's, why not an air craft carrier in the noughties!
